How blocked drains occur
Blocked toilet or blocked drains; can occur when materials such as soaps, fats or food build up, disposable wipes, Excess toiler roll or blue roll do not help. Over time if not instant blockage those materials will continue to collect which will prevent water from flowing freely and could eventually cause a blockage on the drain pipe work.
Toilets regularly block up due to too much toilet paper, sanitary items and even nappies being flushed down them. Young children are often the culprits for blocked toilets. They have been known to flush a full roll of toilet paper, a toy and even the toilet brush.
- Knowing where your cold water supply stopcock valve is, in case of an emergency it’s very important. If you are not sure we’ll help you find it and show you how to operate it.
- Always use a shower hair snare or a drain strainer; hair is one of the main suspects in most blocked bathroom drains.
- Please do not put flushable wipes down the toilet, as they are really not flushable; they don’t break down like regular toilet paper.
- Nearly all the blocked toilets in business or work office are the blue hand paper towels and make up wipes.
The other thing I would like to recommend is please keep full details of any taps and showers you install in your property, because when you need spare parts it will make your life easy and cheaper to find the part with a phone call to the manufacturer you can do this urself then you call the plumber.
Maintain Boiler servicing and regular check up and maintenance its always a good idea before the winter time, don’t just leave it for when the cold weather comes in.
